The Guerrero family founded the Meadowlark Vineyards estate in 2002. Through a combination of passion and hard work, we’ve slowly grown into one of the most decorated boutique wineries in Santa Barbara County.

Meticulous attention is given to each vine to create award-winning wines. The incredibly unique terroir and predictable diurnal climate allows us to grow grapes of great quality. Love for the land is reflected in our commitment to eco-friendly farming solutions. The result of this unique terroir, climate and love for farming is the creation of exceptional quality wines.

In February 2002 the Meadowlark Vineyards  estate is purchased. A unique property nestled along the banks of the Santa Ynez River.  A previously empty field of dreams begins to be slowly converted into a vineyard property.

In April 2003 first Syrah 877 block is planted. The 110R root stock was selected for its unique adaption to our climate, soil, and the ability to have a delayed fruit maturation.

After three years of patiently waiting for vines to mature, first grapes are harvested in October 2006. Production of first vintage begins.

All great things take time. In October 2007, four years after planting the first vines, the first vintage is bottled.

Meadowlark Vineyards continues to perfect its wines over this decade. Also during this time, our children pursue their own careers. Dahlia is a Diagnostic Radiology physician, Esteban is an Internal Medicine physician, and Daniel is a pilot for the U.S. Air Force. In 2020 the second generation begins to help with the operations at Meadowlark Vineyards.

And the story continues…
